Beacon Campus wins the Tomie Ohtake AkzoNobel Architecture Prize

The architectonic project designed for Beacon Campus has won the Tomie Ohtake AkzoNobel Architecture Prize. The space is a combination of an innovative pedagogical project with the preservation and recognition of heritage built in an old industrial neighborhood in the central area of São Paulo. The Campus provides inclusive environments that offer specific structures for each development stage of our students, while promoting interaction among the entire school community.

The list of finalists in the “Professional” category counted on the participation of 12 projects and the disclosure of the award-winning projects took place during the opening of the exhibition at the Tomie Ohtake Institute, Beacon Campus being one of the winners.

Beacon is proud of its achievement and commend the Andrade Morettin and GOAA architecture offices and all those of the community who took part in conceiving and creating a sustainable site, which places the student in its center and promotes social interactions.

The Tomie Ohtake AkzoNobel Architecture Prize had its first edition in 2014 and has already received 764 enrolled projects. It aims to recognize the architectural projects of the contemporary Brazilian scene, as well as value innovative ways of thinking and designing social spaces. The jury takes into consideration factors such as the project commitment to the implantation site and sustainability.
