IB’s workshops aim to engage educators in rich learning experiences and a powerful tool to ensure that IB World Schools can guarantee excellence by using the program with their students, exploring all its potential.
Aware of the importance, Beacon provides semester workshops to all its teachers so that they revisit practices and improve work in the classroom.
With hybrid and then just remote teaching, teachers’ collaborative work became more important. Thus, it was essential to invest even more in the professional training of our educators. The school enrolled new hires and the entire team of specialists in Music, Arts, Physical Education, English Support Program (ESP) in the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) official training, totaling 65 professionals.
The chosen workshop was “Making the PYP Happen: Implementing Agency,” which provides the basis for the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and invites the teacher to reflect on his practice and how he conducts activities with students to encourage them to have choice, voice, and empowerment, without forgetting the research and transdisciplinary basis of the program.
Beacon believes and invests in its professionals and understands training as an essential and transforming pillar of education.
